“Caring for fish and the environment”

Lymm Angling Club is one of the largest angling clubs in the Northwest of England, having grown considerably since it’s foundation in 1948.

At the heart of the club are its still-waters which offer over 180 acres of water for members to enjoy. These waters range from small farm ponds to large meres and offer excellent fishing in scenic surroundings.

Most provide secure parking via padlocked gates. For the river angler we offer beats from the gently meandering Peover Eye to the fast flowing River Severn so you can be certain you’ll find a river that’s suits you. Completing our portfolio we offer 9 lengths of canals spread across the Llangollen, Shropshire Union and Bridgewater canals.

Some very large carp lurk in our waters with at least four of them producing carp in excess of the magical 30lb mark. Backed by numerous fish of over 20lb and a crop of single-figure fish, there is plenty to go at for both the dedicated carp angler and those who are just starting out on their carping exploits. But the club isn’t just about carp angling.

We pride ourselves on owning one of the best, big tench waters in the Northwest in the form of Lymmvale. Here you will find tench in numbers with specimens to 10lb swimming alongside huge catfish, the largest of which is in excess of 75lb add to this carp to over 30lb and you'll appreciate why Lymmvale has become a mecca to the specimen angler.

For the out and out pleasure angler, places like Grimsditch Mill Pool, Farm Pool, Woodside Pool, Oasis Pool and many others offer excellent mixed species fishing with ‘fish-a-chuck’ action during the summer months. Micklewrights Flash is also an excellent pleasure fishing water that includes a good stock of pike for anglers to target during the Winter months.

If you prefer to fish on rivers, then the club has a great selection for you to choose from, including the River Severn, the River Vyrnwy, the River Dane and the River Bollin. All of these rivers hold stocks of barbel and chub along with seasonal game fish for those preferring to cast a fly. All in all, we believe the waters in our portfolio offer something for everyone. It’s just up to you to go out and catch them!!
