Membership Types
Whether it's a still water filled with either Carp or mixed coarse fish, a specialist water with a small head of specimen sized fish or a river teaming with Barbel, Grayling, Chub or Trout, Lymm Angling Club has waters for you. 

 

The most frequently asked question from prospective new members is "What type of membership do I need?" So below we've tried to summarise each membership class and which waters that allows you to fish.

What is an Overstamp?

The Estates Maintenance fee of £87.50, referred to as an Overstamp payment, entitles the member to fish designated, premier club waters between 15th March to 15th June inclusive. This can be purchased separately or with the RESTRICTED - Intermediate Including Overstamp, BAND E - Senior Including Overstamp or BAND C - Pensioner or Concession Including Overstamp, only pensioners aged over 70 will receive a free Overstamp, this applies to both existing pensioners and future qualifiers.

Note the waters listed below an asterix * indicates waters known as Overstamp waters closed to members in BANDS B to D and Restricted Intermediate from 15th March to 15th June inclusive except those members who have purchased or acquired/worked for an overstamp. ** Tabley Mere & Moat closed 15th March – 31st May inclusive. Strictly no fishing or access to the estate during this period. Open to ALL MEMBERS thereafter.

BAND A - ALL RIVERS & CANALS

This membership allows you to fish all the rivers and canals listed below, members must observe any close season regulations imposed by the Environment Agency. It does not allow you to fish any still waters listed below.

BAND B - PENIONER OR CONCESSION

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around except for the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

BAND C - PENIONER OR CONCESSION INCLUDING OVERSTAMP

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around including the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

New Pensioner & Concessionary Memberships - A pensioner is a member that has reached State Pension Age (66). From 2021 whilst renewing pensioners can re-join, no NEW pensioners will be accepted into the club. To qualify for a pensioner membership going forward the member must first join the club as a SENIOR member and upon completion of THREE consecutive years of membership the reduced fee will be applied at the pensioner rate at that time.  From 2021, only renewing pensioners aged over 70 will receive a free Overstamp. This applies to both existing pensioners and future qualifiers. The concessionary class was removed from 2021. Concessionary memberships may be renewed or awarded to existing members ONLY at their request and at the Committee’s discretion.

 

BAND D - SENIOR

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around except for the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

BAND E - SENIOR INCLUDING OVERSTAMP

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around including the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

RESTRICTED - JUNIOR

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around however water specific rules apply for the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period

 

Junior Membership - Is open for children aged between 7 to 15 years old. All junior anglers on club waters must be accompanied by an adult of over 18 years of age, who will be responsible and answerable to the Committee for the safety and conduct of that junior. Subject to water specific rules Junior members can ONLY night fish whilst being accompanied by an adult of over 18 years of age. Subject to water specific rules Juniors aged 10 to 15 years old that hold a permit, may night fish on the adjacent peg to a responsible adult over 18 years old, and that adult takes full responsibility for the junior members actions.

RESTRICTED - INTERMEDIATE

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around except for the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

RESTRICTED - INTERMEDIATE INCLUDING OVERSTAMP

This membership allows you to fish all waters all year around including the specimen still waters detailed below during the overstamp period.

Intermediate Membership - Intermediate anglers aged 16-17 are allowed to night fish on their own; however, ID showing proof of age will be requested on patrols.

RESTRICTED - ALL CANALS

This membership allows you to fish all the clubs stretches as detailed below on the Bridgewater Canal, Llangollen Canal and Shropshire Union Canal.
