Lymm AC member, Wayne Taylor visited Wrinehill Pool recently for a spot of carp angling. Wayne arrived at the water in the morning and soon spotted some fish moving at short range. In double-quick time, he was settled in to a peg nearest to where he had seen the fish and presented a couple of baits, combined with pva bags, at about 15 yards range.
Within an hour, Wayne received a take and moments later, landed a common of 17lb. After that, things went a little quiet, however, in the afternoon, the wind swung direction straight into Wayne’s peg. At about 6pm, Wayne had another take to one of his rods and, after a while, he was sliding the net under a considerably larger mirror carp! Once it was hoisted up on the scales, and witnessed by a patrolling bailiff, Wayne recorded it’s weight at 30lb 10z, a superb creature and Wrinehills first 30lb carp!

Many congratulations, Wayne, superb stuff indeed!
